SLYB is run entirely by volunteers and can only continue to operate with the help of our parents, sponsors, and supporters. Through the league fundraising activities of sponsorships, selling products and Fun Day ativities, we can continue our long tradition of baseball. SLYB ANNUAL TEAM FUNDRAISING PROJECT DETAILS ARE BEING FINALIZED!SLYB FUN DAY - Saturday, May 28 SLYB’s always popular Fun Day and all its many activities for both adults and players. Fun Day activities are being planned for the players in all SLYB divisions and adults will want to participant in the Silent Auction and other events scheduled for the day. Major League Home RunEach Major League team will have at least one participant. Any player with 5 or more home runs during the 2011 season is invited to participate. Teams may have more than 1 player participate as long as the participant meets the 5 home run qualifier. The Manager of any team which does not have a 5 home run qualifier will select 1 participant from his team to participate (usually a 12-year-old). All participants must supply an adult pitcher. The competition will consist of two rounds. 10 outs per round. Every swing is either a home run or an out. Top 2 (and ties) in the opening round advance to the finals. Any ties in the final round will be broken by a 3-out slug out. Keep going with the 3-out segments until we have a winner. Vendor Mall:Similar to last year, we are inviting more vendors to participate. Participation fee will be announced soon. Vendors must provide their own table(s) and tent (optional).
